Ukrainian and Romanian Will Launch Joint Control in Check-Points
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 21, 2008 the 4th sitting of the main transborder officials of Ukraine and Romania was held at the Administration of State Transborder Service. The event was held within the framework of the agreement "On the Ukrainian-Romanian State Border, Cooperation and Reciprocal Assistance Regime", reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
The Ukrainian party was represented by Deputy Chief of the State Transborder Service, Director of the International-Legal Department Oleksandr Melnykov and Deputy Inspector General of the Romanian Transborder Police Ion Buda was on behalf of the Romanian party.
The parties consider the current state of affairs at the Ukrainian-Romanian border. According to Oleksandr Melnykov, the Ukrainian-Romanian cooperation experience is perfect. This is confirmed by a stable situation on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, Oleksandr Melnykov stressed.
The future plans include reaching an agreement on joint control at the state border, drafted by the State Frontier Service.
The sitting resulted in signing a plan to improve cooperation between the frontier services of Ukraine and Romania in 2008.
