OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2008. In New Delhi the Director General of the JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” Mr.Valery Okulov and Vice-President of the Indian Airlines Kingfisher Airlines Mr.S.Ramachandran have signed the contemplation memorandum aimed at broadening commercial collaboration, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The document was signed in New Delhi within the II Russian-Indian Trade and Investment Forum, in which participated the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mr.Victor Zubkov and Prime Minister of India Mr.Manmohan Singh.

Aeroflot and Kingfisher Airlines have proven their intentions to develop the cooperation both within the frame of the interline air service agreement in force and by means of signing special pro-rate agreement and code-sharing agreement. As a result of this cooperation Russian passengers will receive an enhanced access to the internal Indian network of Kingfisher, Indian passengers will be able to use transit possibilities on the best terms, when flying by Aeroflot to Canada, the USA, Europe.

In the memorandum the parties expressed their aspiration for consolidating and broadening interaction in the spirit of partnership, their readiness to render mutual support in the field of ground service, to conduct regular consultations for the purpose of increasing the efficiency of the operating activity.

Signing of this memorandum has commemorated a new era in the development of commercial cooperation between the two airlines, and has become a contribution into development of the Russian and Indian relationship.

Kingfisher is one of the most dynamically developing airlines of India. Kingfisher Airlines, owned by UB group - one of the largest Indian companies, is the only Indian customer of the world’s biggest airbus. The base airports of Kingfisher Airlines are Bangalore International Airport (Bangalore) and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Mumbai). The main transit airport of the airline is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Akhmedabad). Total amount of the destinations: over 30. Total amount of the airplanes: over 30.
