OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2008. Central laboratory of the technical department of JSC Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant named after Kuzmin (NMP, ESTAR Group) received the certificate of accreditation of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology No. ROSS RU 0001.22. ChS 61, compliant with the state standard GOST R ISO/MEC 17025-2006 (international standard ISO/MEC 17025: 2005).

The certificate confirms the technical competence of the laboratory in testing the chemical composition, physical and mechanic properties and metallographic characteristics of the products.

Today the central laboratory is a modern research centre with diagnostic equipment that allows achieving maximum precision in the required tests. New automatic equipment for sample preparation and metallographic research recently appeared at NMP: Brilliant, an abrasive cutting machine, Saphir 560, a grinding and polishing machine, Opal 400 (Germany), an automatic hydraulic press, Axiovert, a microscope allowing complex image analysis.

The total cost of new equipment is about 3 mln rubles.
