OREANDA-NEWS. On February 18, 2008 Shahmar Movsumov, Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with members of the non-governmental organizations’ Coalition for Increasing Transparency in Extractive Industries. Shahmar Movsumov updated the members of the Coalition on latest achievements with EITI implementation in Azerbaijan, reported the press-centre of SOFAZ.

Proposals on the changes to the Memorandum of Understanding on implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative in Azerbaijan made by the Coalition for Improving Transparency in Extractive Industries were discussed during the meeting.

Mr. Movsumov praised the cooperation between the National Committee on EITI and NGO Coalition and expressed his hope in continuity of this process.

The Azerbaijan government’s pledge to continue its policy on implemention of EITI commitments also was prompted during the discussions.
