OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2008. Number of domains registered in UZ zone exceeded 6000, reported the press-centre of Uztelecom. 

Five months ago there were 5000 and 11 months ago – 4000 domains. So growth of domains for 12 months made 2000.

In 2007 a growth of active domains made 2155 or about 60%. Total number of domains registered last year was 3224 while 1069 were removed.

There are seven official domain UZ registrars in Uzbekistan; they are companies “Tomas”, “Amaliy Alokalar Biznesi”, “Sarkor Telecom”, “Billur Com”, “TV-Inform”, “Arsenal-D” located in Tashkent and company “Simus” in Ferghana. Registration fee is about  $18 - $25.

The Center for development and introduction of computer and information technologies UZINFOCOM appears as the second layer administrator of UZ zone.
