Bank of People Issued 49,100 Plastic Cards
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 18, 2008 for the purpose of reducing the off-bank circulation of cash in 2007 the State Commercial People's Bank issued 49,100 plastic cards, of which 60% were issued as a part of salary projects, reported the press-centre of People's Bank.
In the reporting year the bank continued its active efforts to raise the quality of conditions for the use of its plastic cards. As a result of the measures taken by the bank, over 1,200 trade terminals were installed, including 920 installed at trade points.
The People's Bank provides "Overdraft" consumer loans through its plastic cards. More than 1,000 holders of these cards have used these loans and satisfied their consumer needs.
On 4 October 1995 pursuant to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan "On reorganization of the UzSberBank into the People's Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan" No. 386 the Uzbek Republican Savings Bank was reorganized into a State Commercial People's Bank. The first savings bank was opened in Tashkent back in 1875.
