OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2008. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "Pochta Rossii" [the Russian Post Office] Federal State Unitary Enterprise for breaching Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of a Czech postal operator "JANZEN s.r.o".

The Russian Post Office violated the antimonopoly legislation because its actions on restricting acceptance and processing of international mail in the outlets for international postal services infringe the interests of foreign postal operators and the citizens of the Russian Federation - mail receivers, and can also lead to restricting competition on the market of postal services in the Russian Federation.

FAS Russia will consider the case against "The Russian Post Office" on 13th March 2008.
