Number of Plastic Cards Issued by Promsvyazbank Increased by 34%
OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 February 2008 was announced, that in 2007 the number of cards issued by Promsvyazbank (PSB) increased by 34% year-on-year to about 440,000. The aggregated average balance on card accounts in December 2007 was RUB 4.36 billion, a 95% increase over December 2006. Acquiring turnover increased by 1.8 times in 2007 to RUB 5 billion.
In 2007, PSB began issuing credit cards with grace period and cash-back feature; over 12,000 such cards have been issued since September 2007.
In 2007, PSB installed 198 new ATMs; as of 1 January 2008, their total number was 706. The Bank also began installing ATMs with cash-in function. The number of POS terminals in retail trade and servicing companies increased by 875 to the total of 2,740.
Plastic cards issued to employees of the Bank’s corporate customers for payments of salaries account for 86% of the total number of cards issued by PSB. In 2007, PSB implemented over 1,300 salary projects for its corporate clients.
In 2007, PSB offered its clients a new service whereby they could transfer funds directly from one card to another, and also inaugurated a new function of loan repayments through ATMs. The Bank has substantially increased the number of companies whose services can be paid through PSB’s ATMs, their number is now 43. Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg now can pay their utility bills through ATMs of PSB.
