OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 February 2008 was announced, that in the first month of 2008 “Rossiya-Russian Airlines” carried a total of 186,761 passengers in its own aircraft fleet (an increase of 5,5% on the same period in 2007). The total includes 82,523 passengers carried on domestic routes (-8,5%), and 104,238 on international and CIS routes (+20,1%).

Growth of indicators on the international directions is provided by performance of scale charter programs in a New Year's and Christmas vacation. On volumes of charter transportations during the winter period STC "Russia" became one of the first among the Russian airlines. Flights were carried out in popular points of Asia and Africa, on mounting skiing resorts of Europe, and also on a number of new directions, including, from St.-Petersburg in Colombo (Sri Lanka) and on island Tenerife (Spain).

In connection with the raised demand the quantity not only charter, but also regular flights to Paris, Geneva, Salzburg, Munich, Rome and Prague has been increased. From the middle of January flights on mounting skiing resorts of Austria, Bulgaria and Switzerland began to be carried out weekly. Also since October, 2007 the extensive tourist program of flights from regions of Russia on resorts of Egypt continues to operate. By the end of March of this year within the limits of this program it will be executed more than 390 flights.
