President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the State Security Council to discuss the tasks of strengthening the foundation of national independence, law and order as the important conditions of successful implementation of the reforms initiated in the country.

Opening the sitting the Turkmen leader congratulated those present and the military personnel of the armed forces of Turkmenistan on National Flag Day. Wishing the military specialists good health, inexhaustible vigour and success in the services for the benefit of the beloved Motherland Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the peaceful life and constructive labour of the Turkmen people that should be the main aim for the national military and law enforcement agencies was an invariable priority of the policy of the Turkmen state.

Thanking the Turkmen leader for the heartfelt wishes the high-ranking military and law enforcement officials congratulated cordially Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the nationwide holiday, which symbolized indissolubility of the foundation of the freedom and sovereignty of the nation. Emphasizing that the policy of peace, good neighbourliness and large-scale reform programmes pursued by the President of Turkmenistan was supported ardently and unanimously by the people of Turkmenistan and the international community those present wished the Turkmen leader good health, long life and new accomplishments in his titanic activity for the happiness and wellbeing of the Turkmen people.

The high-ranking military and law enforcement officials presented the reports on the work done and the progress of the military reform. Putting emphasis on the necessity of reforming the army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on creation of the favourable living and working conditions for the military personnel.

The festive celebrations, in which the armed forces took an active part, and the measures to ensure the public order throughout the country was a focus of the sitting.
