OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2008. President Ilham Aliyev met with the Speaker of the Parliament-National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary Ms. Katalin Szili.

Speaking of inter-parliamentary relations, Ms. Katalin Szili said her country regards Azerbaijan as its strategic partner and places particular emphasis on cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields both in bilateral format and within international organizations.

She stressed Azerbaijan`s great role in providing Europe’s energy security and spoke of the advantage of relations in the humanitarian field.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the successful development of bilateral relations and the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in enhancement of bilateral relations. The Head of state noted the cooperation between the two countries` parliaments is also significant in terms of Azerbaijan`s integration into Euroatlantic structures. President Ilham Aliyev reminded the successful cooperation of the parliaments within the framework of international organizations and expressed his confidence in further expansion of the cooperation. 

After the meeting, the Head of our state signed the Honorary Guest Book of the Parliament.
