OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 February 2008 was announced, that in Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones (head of Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones (RusSEZ) a meeting was held with the representatives of the Japanese federation of economic organizations “Kaidanren".

The Japanese delegation, which has been presented by companies of TokioGasCo. Ltd., Marubeni Corporation, Sojitz Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, SojitzResearchInstitute, Ltd, headed the Mr Kunio Andzaj - the chairman of Japanese-Russian committee of economic sotrudnichestvu/ the senior corporate counsellor of TokioGasCo. Ltd.

On the Russian part following persons took part in the meeting: A. L. Overchuk, deputy head of RusSEZ, employees Directorate of Work with Investors and International Organizations of RusSEZ, department foreign economic relations Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation and department investment policy Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation.

A. L. Overchuk informed the meeting participants about the process of creation of special economic zones in the Russian Federation in 2007. In particular, Japanese party the detailed information about opening two SEZ of industrial-production type, creation of the infrastructure in four SEZ of technology-innovative type, creation of seven tourist-and-recreational zones, on competition for selection of applications for creation of port special economic zones has been presented.

At the meeting in detail was discussed development prospect in existence special economic zones industrial-production and technology-innovative types, the great interest of Japanese delegation caused set up in 2007 tourist-and-recreational zones.

The special attention the Japanese party has given announced competition for creation of port zones. A. L. Overchuk, deputy head of RusSEZ told in detail about conditions and development holding competition for creation of port zone in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The Mr Khiraoka Masato - the assistant president of Japanese-Russian committee on economical cooperation. (the president secretariat of Marubeni Corporation ) noted the positive development of joint project “Severstal-autos ISUZU” and expressed the hope for mutual understanding and the aid when carrying out of new project on fertilizer production in the SEZ "Alabuga".

The Mr K. Andzaj expressed the hope for following support Japanese business under conditions of special economic zones of Russia. A. L. Overchuk thanked present Japanese business representatives for the high interest in special economic zones development in the Russian territory.
