Moscow Government Intends to Build Accommodations for Shipbuilders
OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 February 2008 was announced, that Moscow government is going to build two multistorey buildings for Sevmash workers in Severodvinsk.
This decision was achieved during meeting of capital mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Sevmash Director General Nikolay Kalistratov in Moscow. Buildings will be constructed on sites, which were expected for building even at the beginning of 90-ies and today remain in federal property. Moscow is ready to commission houses turnkey. Flats in newbuildings are planned to be distributed among shipbuilders, distinguished themselves when building nuclear submarines, man-of-war's men.
On the 2nd of November 1996 FSUE “PO “Sevmash” and Moscow government concluded “Agreement about patronage of building nuclear submarine „Yuri Dolgoruki“. Owing to this during crisis 90-ies plant and town received great social support. In 2001 and 2005 new documents expanding cooperation range were signed. By the way Sevmash is the only industrial enterprise with which Moscow government has concluded such agreement.
Today nuclear submarine “Yuri Dolgoruki” has been already launched and Moscow continues patronage of building other ships. Capital government allocates significant amounts every year. First of all they are used for children assistance. As a result of delivery modern medical equipment Severodvinsk children’s hospital became one of the best in Russia. Investments are made in development kindergartens and schools stock, outfitting of health institutions. Every year children of shipbuilders spend holidays in Moscow and pupils of Moscow military schools visit Sevmash. Submarine museum, reequipped in Severodvinsk was opened in 2006 in Moscow.
