OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. In January 2008 external assets of the Bank of Lithuania decreased by LTL 349,5 million to form LTL 17,8 billion at the end of the month, while external liabilities increased by LTL 213,1 million to LTL 1,3 billion, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

In January, currency in circulation decreased by LTL 572,5 million to LTL 8,6 billion at the end of the month. Meanwhile, resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania went down by LTL 56,7 million over the month, as a result of transactions, to form LTL 6,7 billion at the end of the month.

Deposits of other MFIs as a result of transactions contracted by LTL 626,4 million to make up LTL 3,1 billion at the end of the month, while central government deposits increased as a result of transactions by LTL 570,7 million to LTL 3,6 billion at the end of January.
