OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2008.  Last year the balneary and mud cure health resort was included into the balance of our sanatorium-preventorium. Certain administrative changes are a result of this amalgamation. The scope of its activity has also broadened. At present not only Zaporizhstal workers can get treatment there (free of charge) but also the members of their families. Treatment authorization can be bought at a reasonable price. Apart from that the balneary and mud cure specialists have started working in the Works’ shops.

The new treatment model was adopted in November. At the first-aid station of metallurgical furnace repair shop a consultation of a therapist was organized, after which patients were appointed a course of certain sanitary treatment. Massage was rendered on the spot and other medical treatment was provided in the balneary premises.

Such an approach will be continued in the coming year. During the second visit of the balneary specialists the workers of slabbing mill shop and hot-strip mill shop were rendered treatment.

- The rolling operators are satisfied with the new form of service. Several times they have applied to convey their gratitude to the balneary and mud cure health resort management, stated Natalia Chaykovskaya, Trade Union Chairman of slabbing mill shop. First of all, words of gratitude were addressed to masseuses Tatyana Kolomak and Olga Grinblat, who did their most to improve the health of their patients. Everyone underlined their extreme responsibility regarding their attitude towards their work.

- This is a very good decision to give the workers a possibility to improve their health in-plant, noted electrician of the slabbing mill shop, Elena Trunova. I have heard quite a lot of favourable reports about our balneary and mud cure health resort, but had no idea how to get treatment there. I had massage sessions in the first-aid station of the shop. Apart from that, Doctor Tamara Mozgin prescribed mud poultice applications, magneto laser stimulation, heating and Charcot’s douche, which I had in the balneary and mud cure health resort. The effect was breath-taking. My job is mainly sedentary work (I have been working for 26 years), and the main load comes on the back causing discomfort. After treatment it disappeared.

Workers from other divisions can also take advantage of the balneary and mud cure health resort. Irina Nuriyeva, Manager of the balneary and mud cure health resort, said that such practice pays its way and will be spread to other first-aid stations.
