OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. Ukraine will sow summer crops on 15,8 million hectares in 2008, Agricultural Policy Minister Yuriy Melnyk says, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

Grain crops will occupy 7,7 million, sunflower 3,2 million, corn 2,3 million, soy 700,000 and sugar beet 600,000 of the total acreage of 15,8 million hectares.

Earlier Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko said the 2008 harvest might reach 40 million tons of grain.
