Ugra Will Extract 9-Billionth Ton of Oil
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 15, 2008 these terms were mentioned by the Deputy Chairman of the Okrug Government for issues of subsoil management and fuel-energy sector Vladimir Karasev in the report, devoted to the activities of the regional fuel-energy sector last year, at the meeting of the Government.
It was noted that the main volume of oil which is expected to be extracted with the existing technologies, will be assessed in 4,5 billion tons of oil. Based on preliminary assessments of experts, the other 3,5 billion tons refer to the unexplored reserves.
Vladimir Karasev said that in 2008 280 mln tons of oil will be extracted. In Ugra the conditions have been created to keep the level of the extraction higher than this one while the next 5-7 years. For this purpose oil-producing companies will put into operation 11 new fields with the annual extraction of 642 ths. tons.
Ageing treatment and deterioration of qualitative parameters of the reserves in the Autonomous Okrug were named as objective factors which caused the tendency of production decline. The subjective factors are reduction of tempos of geological-prospecting works since 2001. "The gap between oil production and increase of reserves has become wider and wider since 2001. While the increase of production volumes, the commercial reserves, extracted while the year, reduced. The gap today is 2,3 times", - said Vladimir Karasev.
Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko said that it was necessary to determine the priorities and steps in the legislative field to achieve positive results in oil production taking into account the quality and structure of the reserves. The head of the region called up the Government of the Autonomous Okrug to work more effectively in this sphere with the federal authorities and companies.(admhmao.ru)
