OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. Technical support mission of WANO Moscow Center visited Novovoronezh NPP Feb 13–15 2007.

The World Association of Nuclear Operators is a global network of companies operating nuclear power plants. The key mission of WANO is to effectively apply the positive experience of enhancement of the safety and efficiency of nuclear power plants worldwide and to promote the management systems and methods recommended by international organizations, particularly, IAEA, and successfully tested in practice.

At Novovoronezh NPP the WANO experts conducted a number of seminars for local specialists on the use of partner inspection methods during mutual self-inspections with a view to involve them in future partner inspections at Russian and foreign nuclear power plants.

The head of the mission-the deputy director of WANO MC Sergey Vybornov pointed out that their visit to Novovoronezh NPP was quite fruitful due to the excellent basic knowledge of the local specialists.
