OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2008. The project prepared by SibCOTES for the expansion of CHP Plant owned by RUSAL Achinsk and installation of turbine PT-90 is in progress now. Construction started a year ago. Today the main building is almost completed: 1100 tons of metal structures have been assembled (total – 1500 tons), 500 m3 of cast-in-place reinforced concrete have been placed. The builders have already started to cast concrete for the turbine generator and auxiliary equipment foundation.
Vladimir Akinshin, Chief Project Engineer, noted that it was one of the first projects where the Company acted as a General Designer. The work for this expansion project was performed from 2005 to 2006. The facility should go online in March 2009 because of some difficulties due to equipment configuration problems and production equipment delivery delays. During the whole construction period, SibCOTES’ specialists provided field supervision services, promptly solved coming up problems so that the construction and installation could be conducted without any delays. Very soon power-generating equipment will be installed on site.
