OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2008. In the first eleven months of 2007, Latvian exports grew 24 percent to EUR 5,5 billion (LVL 3,9 billion) compared to the first eleven months of 2006.

This is the second highest increase in exports in the European Union (EU), according to "Eurostat" data.

On the other hand, Latvia's imports in the first 11 months of 2007 increased 23 percent to EUR 10,2 billion (LVL 7,2 billion). This was the fourth largest import increase in the EU.

The highest export increase in the EU during the first eleven months of 2007 was in Slovakia - 28 percent to EUR 39,1 billion (LVL 27,5 billion).

Estonian exports increased by four percent to EUR 7,4 billion (LVL 5,2 billion) and Lithuanian exports increased by 10 percent to EUR 11,5 billion (LVL 8,1 billion) in the first 11 months of 2007.

The largest exporters in the first 11 months of 2007 were Germany (EUR 894,5 billion), France (EUR 372,4 billion) and the Netherlands (EUR 368,5 billion).
