Ukraine to Draw USD 2,5 bln for Gas Transport System Modernization
OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2008. Ukraine is planning to draw about USD 2,5 billion for modernization of its gas transportation system, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told the press.
According to Yekhanurov, his Ministry is planning to call in September a conference of donors, where investors and most powerful companies will be invited. A special fund may be set up for modernization of Ukraine's gas transportation system.
"We are planning to draw there about USD 2,5 billion," the minister said. In his words, a mechanism is being developed for the use of such a fund. Prodan assured that the fund assets would be employed exclusively for modernization of the gas transportation system.
