OREANDA-NEWS. On February 12, 2008 I. Mandrikin, Deputy Director General, FSUE Russian Post told of the main commercial trends for 2008 at the Section "Postal service" within the framework of the Enlarged Session of the Collegium of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of Russian Post.

According to I.A. Mandrikin, this year post will focus on 45% growth of profit rates from non-regulated postal services, 30% utilities payments market share gains. He also told that post develops express-mail services (EMS) and express-delivery (1st Class Mail, Region-courier).

I. Mandrikin noted, that EMS Russian Post growth rates raised by 42% in 2007. Express-delivery market showed 37% growth in general.

Profits of 1st Class Mail grew over 180% in the former year. It should be mentioned that the service is popular not only among business customers, but individuals.

The number of people made utilities payments at post increased, figures for 2007 show that 27% of all payments were made in post.
