OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 February 2008 MVK International Exhibition Company announced launching a new social project dedicated to the art of calligraphy. The purpose of the project is turn the audience to art, restore writing culture, provide the opportunities for studying Slavic script, introduce artists, students and creative people to the art of calligraphy and make a presentation of modern international calligraphic trends.

Calligraphy (from Greek kallos "beauty" + graphẽ "writing") is the art of fine and neat writing. The story of calligraphy is closely connected with the history of cursive type and writing materials invention. Before book printing was implemented, calligraphy was the chief method of text graphic design.

Scenario:

-  presentation of the project carried by Aleksey Shaburov, MVK International Exhibition Company Director General;
-  screening of the documentary “Calligraphy: the flower of human soul”;
-  international calligraphic master-class;
- cocktails.

The presentation will be attended by prominent politicians and artists, world masters of calligraphy and Presidents of some Moscow universities.
