OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Martin Bouygues, the head of French Bouygues Company, which was the general contractor of the number of the large-scale architectural and other projects implemented in Turkmenistan.

The guest cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the anniversary of presidency emphasizing that the results of the nationwide elections held a year ago had predetermined the further course of the history of the independent Turkmen state.

Thanking for the congratulations and cordial wishes the Turkmen leader noted that Turkmenistan regarded the Bouygues Company as one of its leading and reliable partners that was proved by long-term mutually advantageous co-operation.

Expressing intense interest in maintaining mutually advantageous partnership Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Martin Bouygues discussed its prospects and future trends. The head of the French company informed the President of Turkmenistan of the progress of the important projects implemented by Bouygues.

In this regard the Turkmen leader focused on the project on construction of a five-star hotel in Ashgabat. Putting emphasis on the significance of the project in the context of the open door policy and wide international co-operation pursued by Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested that the new hotel would be designed in the national style and comply with the European quality standards. The President focused on the necessity of training highly qualified specialists to compose the personnel of the new hotel.

The interlocutors discussed the opportunities of further expanding co-operation in the traditional field of urban development as well as other fields in particular, the energy sector and petrochemical industry. In this context Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested that the Bouygues Company would put forward the relevant proposals. The Turkmen leader put emphasis on the necessity of accelerating the projects implemented by the French company in Turkmenistan.

Expressing sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting Martin Bouygues assured that the Turkmen leader’s suggestions would be taken into consideration and implemented and his company would meet its partner commitments.
