OREANDA-NEWS. On February 13, 2008  the President endorsed an initiative by Saudi Arabia to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the development of Russian-Saudi relations.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Presidential Aide and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Prikhodko and Special Envoy to the Middle East Aleksandr Saltanov were in attendance at the meeting from the Russian side. The Saudi side was represented by the director of the West Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Al-Zhendan Khaled.
