OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2008. As it known, considering the current progress of oil industry in Azerbaijan, its rich traditions, as well as the utmost importance of oil industry to strengthen the sovereignty of the country, the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev issued the Decree on establishment of the Oil museum in Baku.

The decree facilitates study the oil chronicle of the country. According to the decree, SOCAR is to make a proposal on the establishment of the museum and present it to the President within a month. In order to meet the duties envisaged in the Decree and to study the world’s oil museums, the Azerbaijan delegation of museum experts and scientists had a trip to the USA.

 The delegation led by the vice-president of SOCAR on cadre, regime and information technologies Khalik Mammadov will study oil and gas museums of the U.S. and learn the first-hand experience in this field. The exchange of knowledge will tremendously contribute to the establishment processes of the Oil museum in Baku.
