OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2007. ROSNO has been named laureate of the award "Golden Basket-2007" in the nomination "For Contribution to Development of Basketball in Russia". The winners were awarded at the solemn ceremony held in the State Kremlin Palace, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

Golden Basket is supported by the government. Each year, it is awarded to the players of Russian basketball clubs, coaches, managers, journalists and financial partners, based on their performance throughout the year. This year, the awarding ceremony has been all the more solemn, as both women’s and men’s basketball teams won the European championship — for the first time in the last 20 years. The event has been attended by Mr. Sergei Ivanov, first deputy PM and member of the Russian Basketball Federation’s Trustee Council.

Receiving the award for ROSNO’s contribution to development of basketball in Russia, Mr. Hannes Chopra noted: "In my opinion, sport and business have much in common: being average does not bring you victory.
