Metro Will Be Expanded in North of Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 February 2008 was announced, that 6,5 kilometres of the metro lines are set to be built in north Moscow by 2025.
Oleg Baevsky, deputy head of Research and Design Institute of the Moscow Master Plan, noted that the master plan of Moscow stipulated the development of the public modes of transport in the city as a priority.
According to him, 6,500 kilometres of the metro lines are planned to be built in the northern administrative district of Moscow in 2010-2015. “In total 38 kilometres will be built in the district,” the official added.
Mr Baevsky emphasized that the city authorities of Moscow would pay a special attention to development of the inner city railways. “The additional lines will appear in the Oktyabrskaya Railway and in the directions of Savyolovo, Riga and Smolensk,” the deputy head specified.
Besides, Mr Baevsky said the new highways such as Mitino-Babushkinskaya, Golovinskoe-Babushkinskaya, a duplicate of Dmitrovskoe Highway would be built in north Moscow within the framework of development of the street and road network.
“The fourth ring road and the northern belt road will run through the northern district,” Mr Baevsky concluded.
