President of Turkmenistan Receives Buried Hill Energy Top Managers
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the top managers of the Omani-Canadian company Buried Hill Energy – Chairman of the Board Roger Heinz, a member of the Board ex-Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien and a member of the Board, Adviser of the Royal Council Sultan of Oman Sheikh Salim Ahmed Al Mashini.
Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guests congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the coming national holiday – National Flag Day and the first anniversary of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s presidency and wished good health and new outstanding accomplishments in the important work. A member of the Board ex-Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien said that the international community showed intense interest in Turkmenistan and its leader, whose policy of the progressive reforms had won the country the recognition and high prestige worldwide.
Thanking for the congratulations Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan was always opened for a sincere, constructive dialogue, first of all with its reliable partners including the Buried Hill Energy Company.
The interlocutors discussed the progress of the previous agreements on maintenance of mutually advantageous co-operation in the oil and gas industry. Buried Hill Energy CEO Roger Heinz reported on the work the company had done under the contract for seismic and marine research and implementation of the drilling programme on the Caspian offshore area. Emphasizing that the Turkmen offshore area was abundant in hydrocarbon resources the businessman informed that the Buried Hill Energy specialists had completed the research programme and were ready to start to drill the first wells.
Showing satisfaction at the company’s proposals Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested that the programme would be accelerated putting emphasis on application of advanced, ecologically friendly technologies.
Reaffirming the mutual readiness to develop effective long-term partnership the President of Turkmenistan and his guests mentioned the sphere of education, training highly qualified local specialists as one of the most promising fields of co-operation. The company’s top managers expressed the readiness to assist in training Turkmen students at the educational and training centres in Canada.
Upon concluding the meeting the Buried Hill Energy top managers assured the President of Turkmenistan that they would spare no efforts to successfully implement the agreements taking account of the Turkmen leader’s recommendations.
