OREANDA-NEWS.  February 12, 2008. A conference on the four-year results of the implementation of “State Program on Socioeconomic Development of the regions of Azerbaijan Republic” (2004-2008) was held in Gulustan palace.

As it was noted, State Program on Socioeconomic Development of the regions of Azerbaijan Republic” (2004-2008) was approved by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on February 11, 2004. In the State Program for 2004-2008 the main orientation for state policy, support to the regions and factors for economic development were determined.

At the opening ceremony participated the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime-Minister Arthur Rasi-zadeh, members of government, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan, representatives of NPO and mass-media. The two-day conference covered reports on the activities taken within four years, new jobs and economic achievements.

Products of industrial enterprises in Azerbaijan were also exhibited in Gulustan Palace. AZEL Company presented Lazer computers and joint projects with SAP Company (Germany) implemented for SOCAR. Head of AZEL Company Igor Yakovenko has informed the President of Azerbaijan about main projects of AZEL. AZEL manufactures Lazer computers from 2003 and received certificate of quality SO 9000:2001 from Det Norske Veritas (Norway). Today Laser PC’s are used by a number of state and private companies (Azfen, Turan Air, Ministry of Education, and Botanika Institute), foreign companies (Mercy Corps, UNDP, Stonepay, Red Cross, and Borusan Makina), representatives of foreign countries in Azerbaijan (Embassy of the United States, Embassy of Greece). In 2008 AZEL plans to extend supply of Lazer PC’s for Azerbaijani market. SAP software was successfully supplied for SOCAR in 2007.

Ilham Aliyev has noted that “AZEL successfully works in Azeri market for a long time”. Igor Yakovenko expressed its thanks to the President of Azerbaijan for atmosphere of political and economical stability that allows to Azerbaijani businessmen achieve new success.
