OREANDA-NEWS.  February 12, 2008. Ufaleynickel, PLC As part of its ecological programme the Ufaleynickel, PLC roasting shop has repair started on the chlorination unit and KS-1 furnace cooler. Until the repair is over, it is planned to switch to KS-2 furnace already re-designed under the same principle which is to be applied in KS-1.

What is most important in re-designing is to connect the chlorination unit and the cooler, remove the transfer group and the receiving cone insert. This will allow nickel slug to go from the chlorination unit directly to the cooler, avoid chlorinated slug spilling on to the initial level (floor) and save the necessity for cleaning up whatever material spilled. Consequently, this will improve working conditions for the roasters, and there will be no hard work. The new design will also have positive influence on the environment.
