Ukio Bankas Increases Interest Rates on Deposits
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 08, 2007 Ukio bankas increased interest rates on time deposits for both private and business clients. Annual interest rates on savings and universal deposits also respectively grow. By another 0,1 percent higher interest is offered to the clients having placed deposits via Ukio bankas internet banking system Eta bankas as well as to the seniors having joined the programme Advantages of the Age, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.
Ukio bankas accepts deposits in litas, euros, dollars and pounds sterling. As of today, the clients having placed deposits for a longer term will earn 6,80 percent in annual interest if the funds are deposited in litas, 4,90 percent – for deposits in dollars, 6 percent – for deposits in euros, and 5,35 percent for the funds deposited in pounds sterling.
“Since the situation on the stock exchanges is unclear, the majority of clients look for safer investment instruments with a clearly defined return on investment. We have increased interest on deposits considering the market situation and seeking to make our savings products attractive to the present and potential clients,” Balanda Bradulskiene, director of Ukio bankas Product Development Department, said.
Clients can place deposits via the internet banking system Eta bankas just in several minutes. The minimum deposit amount is LTL 400, EUR 150, USD 150 or GBP 150, and the minimum maturity is 30 days.
Deposits of individuals and business clients kept with Ukio bankas are rapidly growing. The Bank’s deposit and LC portfolio grew by 29 percent, from LTL 2,12 billion to LTL 2,73 billion, in 2007.
