OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2007. The European Union and Ukraine will shortly proceed to negotiations on the free trade zone. The statement to this effect was made by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier following a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Ohryzko, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.

The German Foreign Minister noted that rapprochement of Ukraine and the European Union depends on the continuation of reforms by the Ukrainian Government.
