Russian Railways to Increase Purchases of Motor Coach Trains in 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2007. During the year, the Company plans to purchase 940 motor coach units, including more than 860 electric train units, 24 diesel trains and 50 road-rail buses at a total cost of over 12,4 billion roubles. In 2007, Russian Railways acquired over 760 motor coach units, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
Demikhovsky Machine-Building Plant and Metrovagonmash, both of which are part of the Transmashholding Group, as well as the Torzhoksky Coach Factory, will supply the motor coach units.
In addition, the Company will spend some 900 million roubles on modernising the existing motor coach units in 2008.
