OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2008. The oil industry workers started to drill a new oil well in the Yashildepe field, which is rich in hydrocarbon resources and of priority importance for implementing the national programme aimed at increasing hydrocarbon production. During the recent visit to the Lebap Velayat President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov set the new tasks to Turkmen oil industry workers: to increase oil production to 2,000 tons a day. The local specialists carry on the activity to fulfill these tasks and have achieved the high results. According to the Yashildepenebitgaschykarysh Department, hydrocarbon production has increased to 1,100 tons by the end of January.

The specialists of the Sinopec Chinese Petrochemical Corporation are engaged in drilling well 012 with the project depth of 3,100 meters. Under the service contract concluded by the Turkmenneft State Concern and the Sinopec Corporation and in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan the Chinese partners are to drill six oil wells within the next two years. The contract stipulating for training local personnel amounts to US$ 42.3 million.

Through drilling new, putting the old wells into operation and modernizing the production facilities ‘black gold’ production will considerably increase in Yashildepe. Moreover, the resource potential of the region will be employed in full. In whole, the planned measures will promote accelerating hydrocarbon production in the region.

Nowadays, the programme on creation of the community and consumer infrastructure is implemented in Yashildepe. An industrial community including the social and living facilities was founded there. The programme stipulates for supplying water the Sandykly industrial center in the desert this year. At present a 60-km water conduit, which will connect Yashildepe with the right bank of the Amu Darya River is under construction.
