Lubuskie Wojewodztwo Interested in Regional Links with Gomel Oblast
OREANDA-NEWS. February 8, 2008. Lubuskie wojewodztwo of Poland is interested in strengthening the regional links with the Gomel oblast of Belarus, Lubuski governor Helena Hatka told at a meeting with Ruslan Esin, the Consul General of Belarus to Gdansk.
At the talks special attention was turned to the expansion of trade and economic relations, strengthening of contacts in the innovation, investment and humanitarian area. Ms Helena Hatka confirmed the intention of the Lubuskie authorities to develop the relations in business, culture, school cooperation.
During the working trip to Lubuskie wojewodztwo, Ruslan Esin met with the representatives of the business circles of Zielona Gora and Gorzow Wielkopolski. Polish sole traders showed great interest in cooperation with Gomselmash, other Belarusian agricultural manufactures and are ready to establish contacts with Mogilevliftmash.
The Belarusian diplomat surveyed the work of the Lubuski fellowship organization Poland-Belarus. The two sides considered an opportunity to hold a photo-exhibition in Zielona Gora to mark the 15th anniversary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus to Gdansk.
Alexander Yakobson, the Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee headed a delegation of the Gomel oblast to Lubuskie wojewodztwo in December 2007. The two sides inked several agreements on cooperation between the Belarusian and Polish regions.
