OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2007. The National Exhibition of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held within the framework of the next Uzbek-Turkmenian intergovernmental committee’s meeting on bilateral cooperation. Extensive layout “Information Technologies of Uzbekistan” was presented within that exhibition, reported the press-centre of Uzbektelecom.

The exhibition was organized in order to fulfill agreements and arrangements concluded in the course of the State visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A.Karimov to Turkmenistan on 18-19 October 2007.

Welcome speech to participants and those who organized that event was sent by Turkmenistan President  Gurbanguli Berdimukhamedov expressing a confidence that such exhibitions will allow to expand the commercial and economic relations between two countries.

National exhibition of such a scope is organized outside the Republic of Uzbekistan for the first time. That exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Commerce of the Republic of Uzbekistan, company “Uzexpocenter”, Uzbek and Turkmenian’s Commerce and Industrial Chamber.

The exhibition provided a good opportunity for business circles of Turkmenistan to be directly familiarized with products and services of more than 130 leading enterprises of Uzbekistan, organize a dialogue with potential partners. Thematic sections of the exhibition met priority directions in development of partnership between two countries.

Within the framework of that exhibition a meeting between the First Deputy General Director of UzACI A.F.Izbosarov  and Deputy Minister of Communications of Turkmenistan, General Director of “Turkmentelecom” A.Ch. Berdinobatov was held. During the meeting they discussed a state and further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.

ICT sector of Uzbekistan was presented as a special sector. The following IT-companies and organizations were represented in that sector:

JSC “Uzbektelecom” through its subsidiaries “Uzbektelecom Mobile” and “Engineer & Technical Center”;

Tashkent University of Information Technologies;

Center for training and support of young programmers;

Company “Koinot”;

The Center for development and introduction of computer and information technologies “UZINFOCOM”;

Company “BAIK Technologies”;

Company “Intelligent Solutions”;

Journal “InfoCOM.UZ”;

Company “Newmax technologies”

The stand “Information Technologies of Uzbekistan” was supported by Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan together with the Association of information technologies’ enterprises and organizations of Uzbekistan.

Joint Stock Company “Uzbektelecom”, being the largest telecommunication operator in Uzbekistan, demonstrated a wide range of services including lease of channels by operators and providers of fixed-line and mobile services, data transmission, all kinds of voice and data services, access to the Internet, videoconferencing, mobile services in CDMA standard and others.

In the course of national exhibition the negotiations were held between JSC “Uzbektelecom” and the Center of International Accounts and Agreements  of Turkmenistan which resulted in conclusion of the agreement on upgrade of Internet channel for Turkmenistan up to 6Mbps, on additional telephone carriers from Turkmenistan International Switching Center to International Switching Center in Uzbekistan (ISC –2 Bukhara city) with capacity 2xE1 as well as on direct transit of E1 carrier through Uzbekistan to Russia and Kazakhstan.

The subsidiary “Uzbektelecom Mobile” was presented in section “Telecommunications”. Its main task is to develop a nationwide wireless system based on CDMA-450 standard. The information of “Engineer & Technical Center” was also of great interest for Turkmenian specialists. This “Engineer & Technical Center” is the biggest training center in Central Asia. Tashkent University of Information Technologies was presented in the section “Education in IT sphere”.  Practically all representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education of Turkmenistan attended a stand of Tashkent University of Information Technologies. In particular it was mostly interesting for young people of Turkmenistan.

The company “Koinot” demonstrated its products in section “Telecommunications”such as digital telephone exchanges convenient for rural areas, modems SHDSL-E1 for dedicated lines, signaling converters, optical multipliers, bridges Ethernet/E1 and other production manufactured in Uzbekistan by  “Koinot”. Products of that company are successfully deployed on telecommunications networks of Uzbekistan. 

 The Center on Scientific & Technical and Marketing researches demonstrated its researches in the field of convergence of telecommunication networks and services; telecommunication networks management; inter-network connections and sending of different telecommunication services, traffic; information security; measures on protection of labor; standardization, metrology and certification; marketing researches; tariffs policy; information technologies and services; electromagnetic compatibility; post services; cryptography and crypto-analysis;  monitoring over the existing normative documents; quality system; working out of software products; introduction of   ICT terms to the state language; introduction of restorable sources of energy.

 The Center for training and support of young programmers demonstrated the National operating system Doppix, which is being worked out within the project “Localization of free and open software” launched in Spring of 2007. This project is aimed at working out and localization of national operating system distributive based on free and open software including operative system and a package of application programs. That Center and  Turkmenian company “AGA BIRLESHIK” had signed an Agreement on cooperation in developing, introduction of the modern software production.

UZINFOCOM demonstrated its activity and in particular the activity of specialists of  Service responding to computer incidents (UZ-CEPT). The visitors were informed on the program UZ-CERTified. That program is aimed at solving of one of the most actual tasks which is to inform the users of national segment of Internet on dangers and threat  during their web-serfing.
Company “BAIK Technologies” demonstrated its works: System of e-document circulation “Germes”, Terrasoft CRM, “Virtual reception” and others.

During the exhibition a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between “BAIK Technologies” and “AGA BIRLESHIK” on cooperation in promotion their products on Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan markets.

The company Newmax techologies informed on its activity, which was also interesting for visitors. Its products include a sale of  different types of GPS , working out of monitoring systems and transport vehicles management based on satellite navigation technologies. Company has its own researches related to satellite navigation, digital cartography, geo-informatics and programming, company has a rich material base, experienced specialists, team of researchers and appropriate permissions. Practical results of its activity are monitoring system and transport control means “maxTrack Online”, “maxTrack Offline” and “maxTrack Mobile”.

Company “Intelligent Solutions” was represented in the section “Software products”. Company provides complex design solutions in the field of information technologies. Company demonstrated its ready solutions: “System of e-document circulation”, “Integrated Banking System”, “Billing System” and many others.

The journal “InfoCOM.UZ” signed the agreement with Turkmenian IT-company “Taze dunya” on cooperation in the field of information. The company is involved in retail and wholesale sale of products such as computers, components, technique, software products development, installation and testing of communication facilities, protection and fire systems, video-observation and access control.

To inform the visitors on status of ICT in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan the competitions in the form of a quiz were conducted at InfoCOM.UZ’s stand during three days of exhibition. During competitions winners were granted modern mobile phones, fixed-line phones manufactured in Uzbekistan, USB-fleshes and other prizes.

More than 2000 people attended the stand “Information Technologies of Uzbekistan”. All Uzbekistan ICT enterprises and companies were represented by experienced specialists who were able to answer all the questions asked at the same time promoting their companies, services and products.
