OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2007. The state-owned interest in the telecommunication company "Lattelecom" will be sold at auction, as Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis (Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way) said in an interview on the LNT television's broadcast "900 sekundes".

The sums that have been offered for the state-owned "Lattelecom" shares would help to set the starting price. However, it is the auction that will determine how much the company actually costs, Godmanis said.

Later during the day, Godmanis is to meet with representatives from the U.S. investment group "Blackstone Group" and the Scandinavian corporation "TeliaSonera" to discuss privatization of "Lattelecom".
