Northern Ossetia Is 100% Digitized
OREANDA-NEWS. On 7 February 2008 was announced, that within the framework of UTK’s program of network digitization the Company has put into operation a new electronic exchange of SI-2000 type in the village Kadgaron of Ardonsky region. It is the third region in the service area of the Company’s Northern Ossetia branch where the last analog telephone exchange has been replaced with a digital one and the digitization rate has reached 100 %.
Now, twenty eight thousand inhabitants as well as organizations, institutions and enterprises of the Ardonsky region which covers the area of 376.5 square kilometers, can take advantage of digital communications with any place in the world, additional services of electronic automatic telephone exchanges and Internet broadband access services.
As early as 2004 communication networks in two regions of the Republic – Pravoberezhny and Digorsky with population of more than 80 thousand people have been digitized completely by the Northern Ossetia branch of "UTK" PJSC. In the near future the branch plans to complete digitization of its networks in Irafsky and Kirovsky regions where at present the percentage of digital automatic telephone exchanges makes 99 and 94 percent, respectively. Today, total network digitization rate of the Northern Ossetia branch constitutes 77.7% being one of the highest among UTK’s branches.
