OREANDA-NEWS. On 7 February 2008 was announced, that Sevmash had mastered technology of producing complex assemblies for marine platforms.

In February 2006 when enterprise began building marine semi-submerged platforms MOSS CS-50, specialists had to master new technology – to produce large structures and platforms assemblies. The difficulty consisted in manufacturing cone structures of complex form (transition of cylindrical form in rectangular one). Shipbuilders successfully completed experimental works and filled documents.

Enterprise was ready to produce complex structures of this type from technical point of view but for the head platform MOSS CS-50 К-assemblies were ordered in Finland. Today enterprise specialists developed their own technology for producing such complex parts. It allowed enterprise to refuse from importing these structures for the second platform and obtain significant economic effect. At present time Sevmash is the only enterprise in Russia which is able to produce such structures. Representatives of Vyborg shipbuilding enterprise are interested in this production.
