Ukrainian Economy Minister Prognosis High Inflation in 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 04, 2007 Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn linked high inflation in 2008 with resource intensive economy and high prices for agricultural products, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
According to him, the population's credits in 2007 totaled 10% of the GDP.
The internal market was forced into price hike form the inside and outside, the Ministers said.
He believes that joint efforts of the NBU and Cabinet of Ministers will prevent inflation from increasing.
The 2007's inflation totaled 16,6% against 11,6% in 2006 and 10,3 in 2005.
The President and Premier predicted 2008 inflation at 9%.
Drafting the State Budget of 2008 the Cabinet of Ministers has commissioned the Economy Ministry to make clear macroeconomic predictions.
