OREANDA-NEWS. On 6 February 2008 was announced, that Marat Faatovich Bashirov assumed the post of Senior Vice President for Strategic Communications at IES-Holding. Mr Bashirov will be responsible for the entire range of government relations, regional policy, and public relations issues.

Biography in Brief

Marat Faatovich Bashirov was born on January 20, 1964, in Izhevsk. He graduated from the Instrument Engineering Department of the Izhevsk Mechanical University. In 1987, Marat was allocated to serve in Izhevsk internal affairs ministry agencies. In 1994, Mr Bashirov started to work  as an assistant to V. Podoprigora, a delegate to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, chairman of the International Affairs Committee. In 1997 he was appointed director general of Image Contact 18 (part of the Image Contact consulting group). Between 2003 and 2004, Mr Bashirov held a position of deputy director of the public relations department, head of the media relations department for the Nizhny Novgorod regional governor. He was appointed adviser to the CJSC Renova director general in 2004. In May 2005 he became head of the Regional Projects Directorate at the autonomous non-profit-making organization Corporate Development Institute (Renova Group).
