JSC Acron Senior Vice President Alexander Popov comments:
“On the whole, we are happy with our company’s performance in 2007. The Holding is increasing its mineral fertilizer production. Although the Novgorod facility had to temporarily suspend complex fertilizer production when our supplier reduced shipments of apatite concentrate in May and August, we were able to prevent a drop in output of our key product by driving up NPK production at Dorogobuzh (up 12% year-on-year to 618,400 tonnes) and at Hongri Acron (up 44% year-on-year to 614,400 tonnes.

“Acron Holding keeps gradually diversifying its product mix. We were able to significantly boost our organic synthesis products when we launched new methanol production capacity in China and formalin, urea-formaldehyde concentrate and resins capacity at the Veliky Novgorod site.

“Higher production makes it possible for the Holding’s companies in Russia to increase supplies to the domestic market. In 2007, we shipped over 1 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers to Russian consumers. Right now the global mineral fertilizers market is helping us because prices and demand for our products are still going up.”
