Comstar-UTS Builds VPN for Tanuki-ERSH Restaurants in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. On 5 February 2008 was announced, that COMSTAR – United TeleSystems JSC (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, is constructing a virtual private network (VPN) for Tanuki-ERSH, a popular Moscow restaurant chain.
The project is implemented by COMSTAR-Moscow business unit which will gradually connect the Tanuki-ERSH Central Office (CO) and all the restaurants to the Internet and deploy a single public line VPN. So far, COMSTAR, using its own NGN resources, has provided the CO of the restaurant chain’s managing company with a dedicated IP/MPLS-based broadband Internet, as well as implemented ADSL-based Internet in its four restaurants. In the near future 13 more sites will get the Internet access (2 of them will use Radio-Ethernet). Thus, the private data network will cover all the Tanuki-ERSH restaurants in Moscow.
Under the next phase (2008), 10 to 15 new Tanuki-ERSH restaurants are expected to be connected to the Internet and integrated into the VPN. With its advanced telecom infrastructure COMSTAR-UTS is able to provide any object within the city with reliable broadband Internet; the configuration of the protected communications enables to scale VPN easy, increase its capacity and enhance service range, depending both on a client’s growing presence and changing business needs.
The chain, comprising the Japanese cuisine Tanuki restaurants and ERSH beer houses, is a successfully and quickly growing Russian catering chain, which currently includes 17 restaurants in Moscow and a few restaurants in Korolev (Moscow region), Voronezh, St. Petersburg and Perm.
