Nigeria Invites Ukrainian Business to Develop Mineral Fields
OREANDA-NEWS. On February 01, 2007 Nigerian Minister of Mines and Steel Development Ahmed Gusau at a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador Oleh Skoropad stated that Nigeria speaks up for enhancement of cooperation with Ukraine in the sphere of metallurgy, the Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
The Ambassador briefed the Minister about the development of the metallurgical branch in Ukraine and about participation of Ukrainian specialists in the development of the branch in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Minister, in his turn, spoke up in favor of the project of modernization of rolling mills in Jos, with the participation of Ukrainian investors and expressed his hope that Ukrainian specialists will be invited to the project of enlargement of the metallurgical mill in Ajaokuta.
The Minister invited Ukrainian business to participate in development of mineral fields in Nigeria, in particular, coal, zinc, lead, noting the Nigerian government might give significant preferences to such investors.
