COMSTAR-UTS Appoints MGTS' BoD
OREANDA-NEWS. On 4 February 2008 COMSTAR – United TeleSystems, the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, announced that the Board of Directors of Moscow City Telephone Network JSC (MGTS), the member of COMSTAR-UTS, has appointed Nikolay Maksimenka to the post of temporary MGTS' CEO. The new CEO will took its duties on February 4, 2008.
Following the MGTS’ rules, the Board of Directors has appointed the date of extraordinary meeting of shareholders to elect the new CEO instead of Alexei Goltsov. The meeting will take place on March 18, 2008. MGTS' shareholders will be notified on the date and agenda of the meeting as required by the applicable procedure.
Due to changes in the MGTS' management, Sergey Pridantsev, the President of COMSTAR-UTS, stated: “Alexei Goltsov made a significant contribution in the development of MGTS – the leading fixed-line operator in Moscow. With his management the company developed in a sustainable way and launched a number of strategic projects which has been successfully implemented. The company's shareholders offered Alexei Goltsov to take the position of COMSTAR-UTS Managing Company’s Vice President. We believe that all members of the Group will benefit from his experience.”
Nikolay Anatolievich Maksimenka He was born on January 4, 1963. In 1992 he graduated from the Far East Technological Institute (Vladivostok), in 2004, he got his MBA degree in the International University (Moscow).
He has been working in the telecommunications industry since 1985. In 1985-1991, he worked in the Primorie Territory’s Production and Technical Administration Communications Agency, in the GTS assembly crew of SGSTS. In 1991-2001, he occupied the position of the senior engineer in Vladivostok MTS of Electrosvyaz JSC (Primorie Territory), and in 2001-2006 he worked in the Primorie subsidiary of Dalsvyaz JSC as: deputy CTO, deputy CEO and Director of the Primorie subsidiary.
From February 2007 he occupied the positions of the deputy CEO and Director of Moscow branch of CenterTelecom JSC. Managed by Nikolay Maksimenka, the Moscow branch of CenterTelecom developed and launched the Moscow Branch Anti-Recessionary Program, rearranged the company’s organization, centralized the accounting, reporting, HR, IT, vehicle, supply and administrative departments, introduced the system for motivation of employees involved in sales and new subscribers connection, developed and launched the rent cost optimization program.
In 2003 he was awarded the grade of Communication Master, in 2004 he won the Best Business Achievements international contest as the Best Top Manager (IV International Congress called “From Quality Management to Quality of Business”).
