OREANDA-NEWS.  On 4 February 2008 was announced, that experts of Sibirgazservice summarizing the results of 2007 identified emergency rate increase due to implementation of earthwork operations which have not been accorded with representatives of gas companies. A number of accidents were caused by excavation equipment which damaged underground gas pipelines. Fines were imposed on defaulters under administrative law in all the cases. Moreover three accidents occurred on overground gas pipelines, two of three accidents were caused by trucks which raised bodies drove across the pipelines. One pipeline was damaged by a water container which fell over the pipeline.

Engineering Manager of Sibirgazservice Andrey Lutikov commenting on the results noted that integrated measures coordinated by both the gas distribution company and repair companies performing earthwork operations on the territory have to be implemented to avoid such accidents and emergencies.
