Mass Media Contest Was Held During Polar Lights 2008 Conference
OREANDA-NEWS. On 1 February 2008 was announced, that mass media contest had taken place in the framework of 11th International Scientific-Innovative Conference of Students, Sports-Graduates and Young Specialists “Polar Lights-2008” Jan 29 2008.
The contest was conducted in two categories: printed mass media and internet resources.
12 newspapers and magazines and 6 web-sites representing the nuclear power industry (companies, nuclear power plants, specialized universities, youth organizations) took part in the contest.
The expert jury was chaired by the director of the Information and Public Relations Center-Press Secretary of Rosenergoatom Concern FSUE Ashot Nasibov.
The evaluation criteria were information value, design, printing quality and topicality for newspapers and magazines; and content, design, structure and usability for web-sites.
“Svoy Kurs” (“Own Line”) newspaper of Sarov Physics and Engineering Institute was proclaimed the best among newspapers and magazines. “Nasha Gazeta” (“Our Newspaper”)(Seversk State Technological Academy) and “Mirny Atom Segodnya” (“Peaceful Atom Today”) (Kalinin NPP) were the second.
The web-site of Seversk State Technological Academy was the best in the internet resources category.
The contest was followed by a master-class on “Information Resources of Nuclear Organizations” given by Ashot Nasibov, well-known journalists and internet expert Alexander Plyuschev and the head of the Information and Internet Projects of the Press Center of the Nuclear Power Industry Andrey Tikhonov. The experts told the conferees about the present trends in the field of internet technologies, the regional and corporate peculiarities of the internet service and presented specific model solutions for designers of web-sites for organizations and universities of the nuclear power sector.
The awarding ceremony took place on Feb 1.
