Poland Eases Employment for Ukrainians
OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2007. Ukrainians will no longer need employment permits in Poland starting form February 1 in case they seek to be recruited for 6 months to 1 year, Labor and Social Policy Minister of Poland Jolanta Fedak said, reported the Official website www.kmu.gov.ua.
Anyway to enter Poland, Ukrainians will need a working visa. Jolanta Fedak informed that a term of unemployment without special permits could last only for three months, yet, under numerous requests of Polish employees the government has extended it to 6 months to 1 year.
Meanwhile, Poland has enhanced visa regime with Ukraine after it had joined the Schengen zone. This sparked a series of protests by Ukrainians living close to the Ukrainians-Polish border, who used to cross the border unimpedently earlier, and now they need visas. The states are negotiating on small transborder movement to adjust the conflict.
