OREANDA-NEWS. On January 26, 2007 in Tsakhkadzor President Robert Kocharian participated at the opening of the fifth segment of the cableway. The cost of construction was 2 billion 200 million AMD, which were allocated by the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund, reported the Official website http://news.president.am.

According to Robert Kocharian all the projects envisaged for Tsakhkadzor are being implemented swiftly: “Today the unemployment is not an issue in Tsakhkadzor. Hundreds of employees from the nearby villages come here to work. We must do our best for the entire marz to be developing that way. We are confident that we will achieve that goal.”

For the special attention toward Tsakhkadzor the President of Armenia was made an honorary citizen of the town and awarded a gold medal. In his turn Robert Kocharian awarded a group of workers, who did their best to complete the works on the fifth segment ahead of the schedule.

The President of Armenia assured that this project would be continuous and that cableways would be constructed also in Dilijan and Vanadzor.

President Kocharian visits Tsakhkadzor almost every Sunday. He advises to get more involved with winter sports, and in Tsakhkadzor there are plenty opportunities for that.
